To get a Postal Life Insurance (PLI) record, sign in to India Post’s official PLI Customer Portal, select your policy, and look for Payment History or the relevant receipt or certificate option. The documents offered can differ by policy and payment method. If the record you need is not available after signing in, raise a service query or contact the post office handling your policy.
Which PLI document do you actually need?
“PLI statement” can mean a payment history, one premium receipt, a premium paid certificate for a chosen period, or a policy details page. Decide which one the recipient needs before downloading: a record of transactions is different from proof that a particular premium was paid. The portal publicly identifies a Payment History function, but its authenticated screens may use different labels.
For your own records, check the policy number, insured name, period, payment dates, and transaction references. For a tax filing or reimbursement request, ask the receiving office which document and period it accepts. Do not treat a payment initiated online as completed until the official record confirms it.
How do you sign in and save the available record?
Open the official PLI Customer Portal from India Post’s website or use the portal URL in the references. Enter your Customer ID, password, and display verification code. After signing in, identify the correct policy, and open Payment History or the corresponding documents area. Choose the period or transaction, if the screen offers a filter, then use its view, print, or download control.
Save the file in a private folder with a clear name such as the policy number’s last four characters and the payment year. If the portal opens a printable page instead of a downloadable file, use the browser’s print function only after confirming it is the official record. Check the resulting file before sharing it and mask information that the recipient does not need.
Portal menus may change. The publicly accessible pages do not confirm the precise post login button names or whether every account offers a consolidated statement in PDF format. If you cannot see a download control, do not assume the record is unavailable. Use the portal’s query or service route.
What if you have never created a Customer ID?
Use Generate Customer ID on the official login page. India Post asks for the policy number, sum assured, insured first name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, and email as shown in the policy document. The portal says it sends the Customer ID to the registered email address, after which the customer can view existing policy details and request servicing.
Keep your policy bond nearby and enter details exactly as printed. If the email or mobile number is old, the portal has an Update Mobile & Email route. Use the site’s recovery controls before attempting repeated logins. If registration fails, submit a query through the official portal or speak to the servicing post office.
Why might your payment be missing?
A missing entry can reflect a different policy selection, an incorrect period, a payment still being processed, or a transaction that requires reconciliation. First check the official payment confirmation and transaction reference, then revisit Payment History. If the payment still does not appear, raise a query with the policy number, payment date, amount, and reference, while keeping your password and one-time codes private.
For premiums deducted through salary, compare the deduction shown on your payslip with the policy record and obtain the disbursing officer’s certificate when the relevant service process requests one. India Post lists such certificates among supporting documents for certain pay recovery service requests.
Can you get a receipt without portal access?
Use the official PLI service channels if you cannot access your account or the required document is not shown. The portal provides Submit Query, Customer Grievance, and Service Request Documents routes. A servicing post office can tell you what proof of identity and policy details are required for your particular request. Avoid sending a full policy bond or identity document to an unverified email or messaging account.
How can you protect your PLI account and download files?
Type the official portal address yourself or follow India Post’s link. Do not share a password, verification code, or one time code with anyone claiming to arrange a download. Sign out after using a shared device, and avoid leaving an unprotected copy in a public downloads folder. If a link asks for payment merely to retrieve a statement, verify it through India Post before proceeding.
