Mr. Chetan Shigavan

Mr. Chetan Shigavan is the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer under SEBI Regulations at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Company Limited. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing corporate governance, Board and Committee processes, secretarial practices, and stakeholder engagement.
He is a seasoned Company Secretary and Law Graduate with over 10 years of post-qualification experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, secretarial practice, and contract management across the insurance and pension fund sectors. He brings deep expertise across the Companies Act, Secretarial Standards, SEBI LODR Regulations, IRDAI Corporate Governance Regulations and Master Circular on Corporate Governance, PFRDA, FEMA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
He brings extensive experience in managing regulatory inspections, governance-related submissions, statutory filings, and engagements with key regulatory authorities including IRDAI, PFRDA, NPS Trust, FIU-Ind, and RBI. He works closely with senior management and the Board on governance, secretarial compliance, and regulatory matters, contributing to the strengthening of organization-wide corporate governance frameworks.
Prior to this, he served as Company Secretary & Compliance Officer at Aditya Birla Sun Life Pension Fund Management Limited, where he played an active role in strengthening compliance ecosystems through process improvements and technology-led initiatives, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and audit readiness. In addition to his governance responsibilities, he contributed to legal advisory and contract management and drove cross-functional collaboration to embed robust governance practices across the organization.
He has also been associated with Aditya Birla Wellness Private Limited and Aditya Birla Health Insurance Co. Limited in Secretarial and Legal roles. He has been part of the Aditya Birla Group since 2015 and continues to contribute to strengthening governance practices and enhancing compliance frameworks through technology and digital initiatives.
