A person is eligible to receive the gratuity amount upon:
• Resignation or termination.• Disability or demise brought on by an illness or accident
• Retirement
• Retrenchment or layoff
• Scheme for Voluntary Retirement (VRS)
Note: Five years of continuous service with one company is required to qualify for gratuity benefits. However, this provision does not apply in employee disability or death cases. The gratuity sum determined by the gratuity calculator is given to the employee's lawful heir or designee.
